The book “The March revolution: a historical choice of the nation”, written by President Kurmanbek Bakiyev and published in the printing house “Altyn print”. It is dedicated to the fifth anniversary of Nation’s Revolution that took place on March 24, 2005, and did not leave anyone indifferent, and will always attract the public opinion.
The author – a direct participant of the March Revolution – examines the legitimate features and characteristics of the revolution, whose main goal was the scrapping of authoritarian rule and a radical change of policy toward genuine democratization of political systems. The book illustrates the broad panorama of socio-economic reforms aimed at improving the welfare of the people on the basis of an efficient economy.
Author-president also sets out his vision of the future of Kyrgyzstan as a sovereign state in the world community. Academician Mikhail Zalikhanov, who wrote the introduction to the book of Russian Academy of Sciences, notes that the reader will find in the book many answers to difficult questions, concerning the events in March 2005: in it, President K. Bakiyev “showed the difference between a revolution and the constitutional coup, provided compelling evidence that it was truly a democratic revolution. »
The book has 488 pages, richly illustrated (photographs by Sultan Dosaliev), with chronicle of events that happened in Kyrgyzstan, in the period of 2005-2009, as well as an extensive bibliography.
