The fifth international exhibition UzEnergyExpo-2010 opened at Uzexpocenter in Tashkent. The forum has been organized by the Uzbekenergo company, State Nature Protection Committee, Commerce and Industry Chamber and the Energy and Automation Institute of the Sciences Academy.
Uzbekistan possesses huge industrial and scientific potential, and the energy sector plays an important role in the development of the country’s economy. The main goal of the energy industry is providing efficient, quality and reliable energy supply to the economy and the population.
The required power capacity is being achieved through measures of power saving, increasing the efficiency of the use of fuel and energy resources, introduction of the new equipment and technologies.
The exposition is divided into three main sections: Energy; Clean Energy. Power Saving; and Electric Technologies. They feature the latest achievements of the domestic and foreign technologies in renewable energy, small energy, power accumulation and transformation systems, environmental monitoring systems, equipment for extraction, processing and production of energy from fuel and others.
The leader of the power energy sector of Uzbekistan is the state joint-stock company Uzbekenergo, which is currently reconstructing and modernizing the generating capacities and power networks. The company unites 54 enterprises and organizations working in the energy sector.
The established capacity of the country’s power stations is 12.4 million kWh. The length of the electrical networks is more than 238,500 km. 38 investment projects worth a total of over USD 3.5 billion, currently implemented in the sector, will help ensure stable functioning of the energy system and increase export potential.
Among the participants of the UzEnergyExpo-2010 are companies from Austria, Germany, China, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.
