Navruz with Kazakh Classical Music Concert in London, Great Britain

On March 19, 2010, the first Kazakh Classical Music Concert will be brought to the attention of London citizens from City University of Kazakhstan Society to celebrate the upcoming Navruz.

The essence of the night will bring classical music performances by:

- Bulat and Bota Tynybekovs (Violoncello and Violin)

- Ramina Mukusheva (Violin)

- Baurzhan Yessimbekov ( Dombra) – national Kazakh instrument

- Kazakh traditional dances

- General information about Kazakhstan provided from City University Kazakhstan Society

- Presentation from Association of Kazakhstani Students in Great Britain and Kazakhstan Society City University

Contest for the smartest

NGOThe State NGO Support Council under the Azerbaijani President announced a contest for journalists in covering the activities of NGOs.

The competition is titled “The role and tasks of non-governmental organizations in civil society development in Azerbaijan “, the council told today, March 17, 2010.

Kurultai in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan

National Kurultai, or opposition supporters convention, in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, had passed. The forum was attended by more than 3 thousand people.

In the hands of the crowd were banners: “Down with the family and criminal government of Bakiyev,” “Power, enough robbing people,” “Freedom for Prisoners of Conscience”.

One opposition leader Tekebayev in his speech on the convention proposed the creation of parallel structures of government “to take power into their own hands” and called for an “immediate decisive action.” Continue reading

Echo of Ages festival in Uzbekistan

Echo of Ages festival Very soon, on May 8th and 9th, Khiva – the heart of Khorezm oasis – will host Asrlar sadosi (Echo of ages) Traditional Culture Festival, a grand collaborative project of the Fund Forum and UNESCO, which will present the entire diversity of Uzbek national traditions and customs, applied art, unique oral and nonmaterial legacy of Uzbekistan.

Asrlar sadosi Festival is held annually in different regions of Uzbekistan, and features specialists, scientists and international guests as participants. Starting its route in 2008 in Shakhrisabz, the homeland of Tamerlane, and going through 2200-year-old Tashkent last year, the Festival caravan has now reached Khiva, the pearl of Amudarya. “The March revolution: a historical choice of the nation”

BakievThe book “The March revolution: a historical choice of the nation”, written by President Kurmanbek Bakiyev and published in the printing house “Altyn print”. It is dedicated to the fifth anniversary of Nation’s Revolution that took place on March 24, 2005, and did not leave anyone indifferent, and will always attract the public opinion.

The author – a direct participant of the March Revolution – examines the legitimate features and characteristics of the revolution, whose main goal was the scrapping of authoritarian rule and a radical change of policy toward genuine democratization of political systems. The book illustrates the broad panorama of socio-economic reforms aimed at improving the welfare of the people on the basis of an efficient economy.

Author-president also sets out his vision of the future of Kyrgyzstan as a sovereign state in the world community. Academician Mikhail Zalikhanov, who wrote the introduction to the book of Russian Academy of Sciences, notes that the reader will find in the book many answers to difficult questions, concerning the events in March 2005: in it, President K. Bakiyev “showed the difference between a revolution and the constitutional coup, provided compelling evidence that it was truly a democratic revolution. »

The book has 488 pages, richly illustrated (photographs by Sultan Dosaliev), with chronicle of events that happened in Kyrgyzstan, in the period of 2005-2009, as well as an extensive bibliography.
