The Azerbaijani Students Union with financial assistance from the State NGO Support Council under the Azerbaijani President launches a project on “Propaganda network of Azerbaijani students studying abroad,” the union said.

International Industrial Fair and Cooperation Exchange will be held in Tashkent in October

n85International Industrial Fair and Cooperation Exchange will take place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in October 2010 in two stages.

The Government of Uzbekistan adopted resolution “On measures of organization of International Industrial Fair and Cooperation Exchange in 2010”.

In line with the document, International Industrial Fair and Cooperation Exchange will be held at UzExpoCenter national exhibition complex in two stages.

Sectoral industrial fairs will be held in the first stage in June-July 2010 and International Industrial Fair and Cooperation Exchange will take place in the second stage on 26-30 October 2010.

One of the main tasks of this forum is to inform partners on produced goods and rendered services in Uzbekistan, signing supply agreements, and etc.

Delegates arrive in Uzbekistan for ADB’s first annual meeting in Central Asia

n84Delegates began arriving at the UzExpoCentre in Tashkent today to register for Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) 43rd Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors – the first time the event is being held in Central Asia.

Finance ministers, senior government officials, business leaders, academics, media and members of international organizations and civil society, are among up to 3,000 participants expected at the meeting, which runs from 1 May to 4 May. Continue reading

First credit information bureau launched in Tajikistan

n83International Finance Corporation (IFC) and its partners today marked the official registration of Tajikistan’s first private credit bureau, a long-awaited component of the financial infrastructure and a crucial mechanism for expanding credit for people and small business, according to the IFC Dushanbe Office.

Six microfinance institutions, four commercial banks, and the Association of Microfinance Organizations of Tajikistan became shareholders of Credit Information Bureau in Tajikistan, which was initiated by IFC in partnership with the National Bank of Tajikistan and the Swiss Government.
