Eleonora Bekova is a master pianist and musician who considers teaching a vital part of the making of music. She comes with her class of pupils to Pushkin House. There will be performances of Bach, Schubert, Chopin and Beethoven and other great repertoire. You can witness the great Russian school of piano-playing in its element.
Eleonora Bekova first came to prominence as the pianist in the renowned Bekova Piano Trio but this consummate musician has developed a growing reputation for her work in accompanying leading operatic singers and has released her first solo CD on the Chandos label- a collection of piano works by Martinu with a second solo project under preparation. Ex-President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Roza Otunbaeva, opens Kyrgyzstan’s first travel forum
The ex-President gave the keynote address to 300 delegates from 15 countries representing 200 organisations at the opening ceremony of the Discovery Central Asia Travel Forum 2012. The forum took place on 28-29 April at the Golden Dragon Hotel, Bishkek, in Kyrgyzstan, and is considered to be the first ever travel forum held in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Attendees from Australia to Japan and Tajikistan, from the USA and the UK to Uzbekistan, also heard from the Deputy Minister for Culture and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic, Bakyt Kenenbaev, and 28 other speakers proposing new ways to develop Central Asia’s visitor economy.
