
Masaru Honma, director for Central Asia, EBRD since 2002, has worked for various transition economies since 1990, including the Japanese Embassy in Hungary (Councillor), Adviser to Minister of Finance, Poland, Centre for Economies in Transition, OECD and Head of the Outreach Unit for Financial Sector Reform, DAFFE, OECD.
During 1998-2002, he worked for the stabilisation and rehabilitation of Japan’s financial sector as Director for the Financial Inspection Division as well as Head of Public Relations, Financial Services Agency and Director General, strategy and co-ordination department of Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Masaru Honma joined Ministry of Finance, Japan in 1976 and is the author of “Financial Sector Reforms and its Prospect in Central Europe and Russia” (Toyo Keizai, 98), “Economic Reforms in Central and Eastern Europe” (Ministry of Finance, Japan, Printing Dept, 95), and “Bank failure Resolutions and Deposit Insurance systems in OECD countries” (Toyo Keizai, 2002). Starting 21 June in Sergeli District of Tashkent ICT training is carried out for elderly people representing the social fund for veterans of Uzbekistan named “Nuroniy”. The training is delivered by the volunteers of ICT Policy Project under the direction of the project’s interns.
The first meeting of the intergovernmental Turkmen-French Commission for economic cooperation was held in conference hall of the President Hotel in Ashgabat. The heads and representatives of the government institutions of Turkmenistan and the French Republic participated in the forum.The commission is co-chaired by Vice Premier D. Orazov for Turkmenistan and Anne-Marie Idrac, Minister of State for Foreign Trade for the French Republic.
