Without doubt, the mining industry in Kazakhstan is finding its way out of the economic downturn it faced last year. There are once again increasing demands for raw materials from countries whose economies are beginning to recover and there is likely to be a rise across the board. One of the most significant factors in Kazakhstan’s recovery is the worldwide demand for uranium. Kazakhstan is the world’s number one uranium producer, achieving production results of 13,900 tonnes in 2009; 27% of the world’s output. With a recent deal with India signed and a rumor of a deal with Iran, Kazakhstan’s production is set to further increase y-o-y. Turkmenistan has announced an international tender to conduct an international audit of activities of the state commercial bank “Turkmenbashi” for 2008 (2nd half) and 2009. According to the announcement, all interested organizations and companies can send their proposals to the Department of Strategic Management of the state commercial bank “Turkmenbashi” until July 20 this year.
The state commercial bank “Turkmenbashi” serves oil and gas sector, energy sector, construction and building materials industry, chemical industry, transport, communications and trade industries.

Water sports competition, called the festival of “Sailing World” will be held on July 17 in the village Baktuu Dolonotu, Issyk-Kul region sailing.
President of Sailing Federation Vladimir Kirik, said that athletes will compete in 5 types of water sports: rowing and canoeing, diving, sailing, scuba orientation, and wind-surfing.
Also on this day will be the FINAL races in the cruising yachts. As a result of the final will be awarded the winners and awardees.
