    French President congratulated N. Nazarbayev on Astana team’s successful performance in Tour de France

    French President Nicolas Sarkozy has sent a message of congratulation to President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on successful performance of Astana team in Tour de France, the world’s most prestigious race, and victory of Alberto Contador in general classification. Diplomatic Adviser to the French  President  Jean-David Levitte made it public at a working meeting with Chairman SamrukKazyna National Welfare Fund, President of the Kazakhstan Cycling Federation Kairat Kelimbetov and Kazakh Ambassador to France Nurlan Danenov, Kazinform reports citing the press service of the Kazakhstan Embassy in France.

    The Kazakh delegation also received congratulations from Secretary of State of France for Sports Rama Yade, Mayor of Paris Bertrand Delanoë, President of the French Cycling Federation David Lappartient, head of the Tour de France Organizing Committee and representatives of French Sports Organizations.

    Under the auspices of the Kazakhstan Embassy the SamrukKazyna Fund which is also the general sponsor of Astana team organized a reception for the members of the team, mass media, political and business circles of France. On behalf of the country’s leadership, K. Kelimbetov addressed the participants with a welcoming speech and congratulated A. Contador on his victory and the whole team on excellent performance.

    Education quality issues to be discussed in Dushanbe

    Education quality issues to be discussed in Dushanbe

    A two-day consultative workshop to discuss problems existing in the country’s education sector is opening in Dushanbe today, according to the Ministry of Education.

    The source at a MoE said the meeting would bring together education department heads from all regions of the country. The quality of education in high schools will be a major topic of the workshop.

    The meeting participants will consider issues related to providing secondary schools with textbooks, studying abroad, etc. The meeting will also sum up the results of the republican School Olympiads.
