    Azerbaijan’s classical music to be performed at Munich opera festival

    15 Tajik athletes nominated for London-2012 grants

    15 Tajik athletes nominated for London-2012 grantsThe National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Tajikistan has nominated 15 Tajik athletes for the London-2012 grants, instituted by the International Olympic Committee, Murodali Teshayev, a spokesman for NOC.

    “Among them are Rasoul Boqiyev, Muhammad Abdurahmonov, Sherali Bozorov (judo); Jahon Qurbonov, Anvar Yunusov, Mavzouna Choriyeva (boxing); Dilshod Nazarov and Galina Mityaeva (athletics); Yusuf Abdusalomov (free-style wrestling); Murod Tuychiyev (Greco-Roman wrestling); Farhod Anaqulov  (free-style wrestling); Sergey Babikov (shooting); Alisher Gulov (taekwon-do WTF); Firouza Zubaydova (archery); and Nizom Sangov (weight lifting),” the spokesman said.

    The IOC Commission has not yet determined the grant amount, he added.

    UNICEF holds seminar for Turkmen journalistsThe United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Health Information Centre at the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan have conducted an informational seminar for TV and radio journalists of the central and provincial newspapers and magazines, representatives of the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan. The theme of the seminar was the international experience of the media in emergencies.

    The seminar participants listened to a brief overview of the international experience of media to prevent the pandemic of diseases made by the international expert, well-known consultant on communications Guy Scandlen (USA). He also talked about the most effective methods of informing the public through the preparation of special materials and reports.

    A Greek-Uzbek Friendship Society founded in GreeceA Greek-Uzbek Friendship Society has been created in Greece on the initiative of leading representatives of scientific-academic circles and businesses of this country.

    The main tasks of the society will support and deepen intercultural exchange, realize joint events of friendship and solidarity between two nations, organization of joint programs in cultural exchange, organization of historic and architectural centers of Greece and Uzbekistan, etc.

    Greek businessperson and president of European Profiles S.A Dimitris Bakolas has been elected as the chairperson of the society.
