Azerbaijan’s classical music to be performed at Munich opera festival

One of the most prestigious European opera festivals held annually in Munich brought together opera stars, conductors and directors from 36 countries of Europe and the U.S., Latin America and Japan this year. Performances and concerts during the festival are usually sold out and widely covered by media and television companies in Germany and other European countries. Symphonic Orchestra of Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre has also been invited to perform at the closing concert at the Grand Finale of the festival, theatre’s press office reported.

Along with famous singers, the concert will see performance of famous conductor José Callada (Spain) and Cornelia Kerssenbrofk (Germany).

Symphonic music by outstanding Azerbaijani composers Uzeir Hajibayli, Gara Garaev and Polad Bulbuloglu will also be played at the Grand Finale, which will take place on August 8. These works will be conducted together with Cornelia Kerssenbrofk and People’s Artist of Azerbaijan, professor Javanshir Jafarov.
