The International Kurash Association, based in France, under the administration of Bernard Cabos, is to host a promotional tournament in Bordeaux. The event will be held at Mérignac and will include a warm up session on the 1st of October followed by the tournament on Saturday 2nd October. With 121 affiliated countries over 5 continents, the tournament is open to all martial arts participants (including Judo and Karate, which stem from this sport) with the express aim of allowing them to discover more about the style and form of this sport. A number of categories, to suit all ages and sexes, will be run with free entry to this knockout format competition. Participating countries will be reuqired to fund their own expenses and bring along their national flags and a CD containing their national anthem. On the Sunday, at the Château d’Agassac, in Ludon-médoc, a celebratory re-union will be held.

The National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Tajikistan has nominated 15 Tajik athletes for the London-2012 grants, instituted by the International Olympic Committee, Murodali Teshayev, a spokesman for NOC.
