    Kyrgyzstan voters approve new constitution

    June 28th, 2010

    Despite fears about another outbreak of ethnic violence, Kyrgyzstan has voted on a new constitution that could pave the way for the first parliamentary democracy in Central Asia.

    Kyrgyzstan’s new constitution has been approved by more than 90 percent of voters, according to early results from the country’s electoral commission, clearing the way for Central Asia’s first parliamentary democracy. Read more »

    President Ahmadinejad to attend CICA summit

    June 5th, 2010

    President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will attend the third Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) summit in Istanbul, Turkey, June 7-9, 2010.

    Leaders of several Central Asian countries will convene in Istanbul for the CICA that will be chaired by Turkish President Abdullah Gul. Read more »
