The Trekking Union of Kyrgyzstan invites all comers to its base in the village Semyenovka (on the northern shore of Lake Issyk Kul). At the base there are two houses which can accommodate upto 22 people, as well as a kitchen, camping ground, a summer terrace and parking space.

The Central Asian Crafts Support Association, (CACSA), is conducting their regular Festival of Cultural Dialogue, “Oimo”. The festival celebrating Central Asian handicrafts will open on 24th September, from 11:00am at the Ala Too Cinema, at the junction of Prospect Chui and Erkindik Boulevard. On the same day, at 17:30, the official opening ceremony of “Oimo 2010” will take place accompanied by a concert programme. Also during the festival, at the Museum of Fine Arts, there will be an exhibition of traditional Kyrgyz Ornamentation.

The Museum is located at Abdyrakhmanov Street, 196, (opposite the Theater of Opera and Ballet).

E x h i b i t i o n s

The B’Art Bishkek Center for the Arts in cooperation with Kunstverein Rosenheim are holding until 4th September an nternational Art Exhibition, “Distance 4635 – the lives of others”. The exhibition will feature works by artists from Kyrgyzstan and Germany. The artwork will be presented in the Exhibition Hall at the B’Art Center, Karasaev Street, 1, (Formerly Druzhba / Friendship Street). In the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named in honour of Gapar Atiev there will be an exhibition of graphic paintings, “Golden Bowl”. The exhibition starts from the 28th August and lasts until 10th September. The Museum is located at Abdyrakhmanov Street, 196, (opposite the Theater of Opera and Ballet).

Visitors are welcome from Tuesday to Sunday, from 09:00 to 16:00, (on Fridays until 10:00).
