Bishkek will host the 4th International Film Festival of CIS, Baltic states and Georgia “Kyrgyzstan – the country of short films”, Farhad Bekmambetov, the producer of Kurmanjan Datka film said during the press conference in AKIpress news agency on October 28.
He said that the main purpose of the festival is a cultural dialogue between the CIS countries, Baltic states and Georgia, the preservation of their cultural identity, efforts joining in the fight against immorality and strengthening of cultural ties.
The Film Festival will be dedicated to the memory of Chingiz Aitmatov. The festival will include two competition programs – international and national. 15 paintings, completed in 2013-2014, will be participated in each of programs, Bekmambetov added.
He noted applications will be accepted until November 15.
Cash prizes will be awarded based on the results of the festival. The prize fund is 500,000 som, he stressed.
