The ceremony of opening the Days of Friendship of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan took place at Magtymguly Turkmen National Musical and Drama Theatre. The cultural action organized by the Embassy of the Azerbaijan Republic and the Ministry of Culture and Broadcasting of Turkmenistan vividly illustrates the firm ties of friendship between two fraternal nations and intensification of the versatile dialogue between two countries. As is known, the prospects for developing Turkmen-Azerbaijani partnership including humanitarian cooperation were a focus of the visits and top level talks between Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Ilham Aliev.
The program of the Days of Culture started with the staging based on the music drama Arshin Mal Alan created by the classical Azerbaijani musician Uzeir Gajibekov. This famous comedy performed by the artists of Magtymguly Turkmen National Musical and Drama Theatre is sold out for every performance.
The well-known Azerbaijani comedies and the historical film “Dede Gorgud” about the legendary representative of the Turkmen and Azerbaijani peoples created by Tofik Tagizade will be demonstrated at the Turkmenistan Cinema and Concert Hall. These films presented the traditions and customs of the Azerbaijani people, their centuries-old history and the unique beauty of Azerbaijan. Young filmgoers will enjoy the film “A Lion Left Home”.
In his opening remarks Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Azerbaijan Republic to Turkmenistan Vahdat Mamedaga ogly Sultan-zade noted that traditionally friendly Turkmen-Azerbaijani relations laid the foundation for further cultural dialogue between the two nations bound with the historical affinities, common traditions, spiritual and moral values. The diplomat said that the cultural action was an important step to strengthen friendship and cooperation between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan.
