Tajik delegation took part in the Conference on Promoting Partnership with Non-Law Enforcement Actors in Combating the Threat of Illicit Drugs and the Diversion of Chemical Precursors, which was held in Vienna in late October, according to the Tajik Agency for Drug Control (ADC).
Conference participants discussed partnership between law enforcement agencies and private sectors of the participating countries, issues on control of narcotic substances in the chemical industry and transport. Besides, they discussed challenges of working with chemical reagent, which is used in the illicit manufacture of synthetic drugs, transport and border management, maintenance of public order and security in cooperation with health and social services, the ADC added.
Possibilities of trainings for law enforcement officers to combat the threat of illicit drugs and diversion of chemical precursors into the illicit traffic were discussed at the conference as well.
The conference was attended by representatives of Europe and Central Asia countries, the US, and heads of several international organizations.
