EBRD in Central Asia

On March 25, 2010, in the EBRD Head Office, in London, UK, at 3:30 PM, the Central Asia Director, Mr. Masaru Honma, will present EBRDs strategy in the region and the opportunities for consultants and investors to work with them. He will be joined by representatives from the Infrastructure, Agri-business and Environment teams.

The EBRD Central Asia team covers Uzbekistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Mongolia (Kazakhstan coming under a separate team headed by Mr. Michael Weinstein, based in the EBRD Almaty Resident Office).

EBRD Central Asia team is currently financing around 40 projects per year across the 5 countries, with an annual business volume of some $300 million, and covering a variety of sectors including infrastructure, agro-processing, environment and climate change, banking, leasing, micro-finance institutions, textiles, pharmaceutical, construction materials, retail chains, oil/gas, and mining.
