Two major energy events of the year took place this week in Astana and Almaty.
The 5th KazEnergy Eurasian Forum in Astana on 5-6 October followed by the 18th Kazakhstan International Oil&Gas Exhibition and Conference (KIOGE) in Almaty on 6-9 October are the major oil&gas events of the year.
British Ambassador David Moran attended both, and took part in presenting Lloyd’s Register award scholarship certificates to the students of Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU) with excellent academic achievements on 7 October at KIOGE exhibition hall. The UK Trade&Investment team in Kazakhstan took an active part in the events, and assisted the EIC business mission at KIOGE in Almaty.
FCO’s energy experts – Harriet Mathews, Deputy Head of Climate Change and Energy Group, and Angus Miller, Caspian Energy Advisor, visited Kazakhstan to participate in the events. Angus Miller spoke at KazEnergy Forum, KIOGE Conference and Windsor Energy Roundtable on 6 October.
The busy oil&gas week comprising official meetings and informal receptions became another milestone in further strengthening and developing commercial ties in oil&gas sector between the UK and Kazakhstan.
