23–28 August Exhibition: Artworks by Alakbar Rzaguliyev

Woodend Barn, Burn o’Bennie, Banchory, Scotland, AB31 5QA
Jointly organised by the North Banchory Co. and TEAS, this event will comprise an art exhibition in the Lang Byre Gallery by the renowned Azerbaijani artist Alakbar Rzaguliyev (1903?74), who depicted many elements of life in early twentieth century Baku. He spent 23 years of his life in exile or jail, and his work remains very evocative. On 27 August, the barn will also resonate to the sound of the Sabina Rakcheyeva Ensemble, comprising a cross-cultural mix of traditional and improvised music.
