The spring again invites jazz to the capital of Kyrgyzstan. Public fund «Central Asia Arts Management» is excited to announce that from 13th to 15th of April, 2012, in the big hall of the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic named after T.Satylganov will hold an annual, traditional, the Seventh International Bishkek Jazz Festival “Jazz_Bishkek_Spring”
The 7th International Jazz Festival will be presented by both well-known and young jazz musicians from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, the United States, Germany,Austria, Switzerland, Norway and Turkey.
A distinctive feature of the Bishkek Jazz Festival is a synthesis of jazz and traditional music. PF CAAM for the fourth time conducts ethno-jazz competition for the best jazz composition among the participants from Central Asia. This year’s theme is «Caravan» first performed by Duke Ellington’s jazz orchestra.
The host of the festival is – well-known musicologist, jazz critic and the M.C. from St. Petersburg – Vladimir Borisovich Feyertag.
During the festival in the Kyrgyz National Conservatoire will be carried out master classes. Also on 14th and 15th of April in Bishkek’s Live Music CLub “GLOBASS” (www.globass.kg) will be held Jam sessions.
