Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan will discuss the question of laying Caspian segment of the Trans-Eurasian Information Super Highway TASIM, Azerbaijani media report.
The sides now are discussing the issues of financing the construction of the undersea segment, Trend news agency reported citing a source from the telecommunications market of Azerbaijan.
The construction of the segment might take three months. Prior to the construction, another three months would be required for the preparation of the needed documentation. The contraction completion time could reach about eight months, the report said.
The KazTransCom, the project participant from the Kazakh side, has already prepared the terms for the announcement of the tender for the project.
The TASIM project has regional significance, its purpose is laying transnational fiber backbone covering Eurasian countries from Western Europe to East Asia.
The project aims at creation of the main transit link from Frankfurt to Hong Kong.
