Middlesex University wins an EU-funded grant to develop library service in Armenia, Georgia and Uzbekistan

A three year project of the EU to develop library services in Armenia, Georgia and Uzbekistan, will be implemented by a team of library professionals, under the leadership of the Technical Manager of Middlesex University Library Services, Mr. Alan Hopkinson. The EU grant amounts to EUR 617,787, and aims at improving staff skills in libraries of the respective countries.

The project will fund a masters’ level education in Library Information Science for 15 academics from three chosen organisations in these three countries. The winners will attend a course at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. Upon their return, the graduates will undertake a professional training with a view to pass their skills and knowledge to academic staff, librarians and archive workers in their home countries.
