Bishkek (AKIpress) – The official opening of the park named after Chygnyz Aitmatov was held in St. Petersburg on June 25.
The opening ceremony was attended by a delegation from Bishkek headed by mayor Kubanychbek Kulmatov.
The park is located at the intersection of Karpinsky Street and Rustaveli Ave. The area of the park is 1.7 hectares.
In his speech, the mayor of Bishkek noted the importance of the event for the whole Kyrgyzstan. “Chyngyz Aitmatov is our national pride. His great works let the whole world know about the Kyrgyz people, and we are proud of our history,” Kulmatov said.
