8th KIMEP International Research Conference, Almaty, April 22-23

8th Annual KIMEP International Research Conference (KIRC) in Almaty, April 22nd – 23rd, 2011.

Organized by the Kazakhstan Institute of Management, Economics, and Strategic Research (KIMEP) in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

This year’s conference theme is: “Global Business and Market Transformation: New Development in Eurasia.”

However, in addition to Business tracks, the conference will run separate panels on issues in Social Sciences.

Papers in Central Asian Studies, Economics, Journalism and Mass Communication, Public Administration, Political Science, Eurasian Security and Geopolitics, Culture, and Education are especially encouraged.

The extended deadline for proposals for paper presentation is March 15, 2011.

Applications from Graduate students are welcome.

Abstracts with the clearly stated problem statement, a brief description of methods used and results expected should be sent by e-mail, along with the author’s name, affiliation, and contacts, as well as the title of the paper and a short biography to:

Ambitious goals set before Turkmen horse breeders

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov set a number of large-scale goals for the horse-breeding industry of Turkmenistan during his visit to a new modern equestrian complex being built in Akhal province.
Relevant officials were instructed to allocate tracts of land in each province for the production of feed for horses, put on a scientific basis preparation of special food for purebred Akhal-Teke horses, as well as provide for the construction of specialized enterprises for production of fortified supplements for nutrition of horses.
He also put a task to open in Ashgabat, and eventually in all provinces of the country, small plants for production of various saddles, bridles, stirrups and other necessary supplies for horses and riders. Turkmenistan’s Steel Works was instructed to set up production of horse hooves.
According to the order of the president, each racetrack of Turkmenistan should be provided with special vehicles for transportation of Akhal-Teke horses.
As for breeding, the President of Turkmenistan issued instructions to set up a Research Institute of Horse Breeding and establish strict control over the conduct of the primary account of racers, build stables for breeding of purebred horses, and establish the work of veterinary services.
“We must also open up schools to train specialists-horse breeders. We should prepare all the necessary literature, from books and various manuals on breeding Akhal-Teke horses up to a set of rules for horse-riders taking part in international equestrian competitions. We should also ensure that special sand is used on racetracks and constantly monitor its quality,” the president said.
Issues relating to achieving these goals will be discussed soon at a special conference of the International Association of Akhal Teke breeding headquartered in Ashgabat.

Donor Conference to be held for Kyrgyzstan

A group of Russian experts paid a working trip to the Osh City. Main purpose of the visit was to assess the extent of destruction. During the trip, experts met with local authorities and ordinary residents. According to latest figures, 2.500 buildings, including 1.900 residential ones, were destroyed during the clashes. Education Ministers of CIS discussed prospects of international cooperationThe 17th Conference of Education Ministers of the CIS member states was held on Thursday in Moscow. The issues regarding prospects of cooperation of corresponding departments in the medium term were discussed.

Leaders of the Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund of the CIS member states and the CIS Executive Committee took part in the conference. The sides considered the issues regarding the organization of schools for young scientists, school and student contests and development of a network of collaborative institutions and their branches. The festive exposition and conference “President, People are Grateful to you” were held at the Main National Museum of Turkmenistan in honor of the Turkmen leader’s birthday.

Conference on 135-th anniversary of Azerbaijani national press held in Yevlakh region

A conference on “Azerbaijani National Press – 135: the historical achievements and prospects” was held in Yevlakh region.

Evlakh region executive power head Elmar Veliyev praised the holding of events of the national scale in this region, associated with the 135th anniversary of the national press as high confidence in all Evlakh people.
