On the eve of the 18th Uzbek British Trade and Industry Council meeting in London, the co-Chairman of the Uzbek British Trade and Industry Council, Dr Hartley Booth OBE, will be visiting Uzbekistan between 19-21 October 2011 for talks with Uzbek officials about the forthcoming 18th Uzbek British Trade and Industry Council meeting in London next month. During his visit, Dr Booth will co-host a reception at the Residence of British Ambassador, Mr Rupert Joy, for selected Alumni of UK universities and British businessmen resident in Uzbekistan with a business theme – ‘Exploring new Uzbek British business opportunities’.
HM Ambassador to Uzbekistan Mr. Rupert Joy and the British Embassy in Tashkent have started preparations for this year’s Queen’s Birthday Party (QBP) at the Ambassador’s Residence.
QBP is a British traditional diplomatic event equivalent to a National Day. British Embassies all over the World celebrate this event either on 21 April, the day of the Queen’s actual birthday or on the second or third Saturday in June.
The British Embassy in Uzbekistan decided to celebrate it in June. To this event the Embassy has invited musicians from the Band of HM Royal Marines Scotland, Singing Strings Chamber Orchestra of Uzbekistan, legendary Uzbek traditional singer and actor Nasiba Abdullaeva and many others.
