OSCE Academy students had a discussion of U.S. Government policy in Central Asia

On February 3, Larry Held, USAID Deputy Country Director, and Michael Latham, an Embassy Economic Officer, participated in a discussion of U.S. Government development policy in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia with students of the OSCE Academy.  The OSCE students are masters level students who come from throughout Central Asia.

Turkmenistan announces creative contest for best design of neutrality emblem

The Ministry of Culture and Broadcasting of Turkmenistan and the Union of Painters of Turkmenistan have announced a contest among artists, designers, teachers and students of the State Academy of Fine Arts (SAFA) and the State Special Art School under the SAFA, students and enthusiasts for the design of an official emblem for the 15th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality celebrated this year. Report on the demonstrations held in London

On June 16 a protest was held against the media coverage of Southern Kyrgyzstan outside the Russian Embassy, in London UK, organized by the Uzbek society. The protest was called: “Breaking the silence: Mass ethnic killings in Southern Kyrgyzstan”. Continue reading
