
Turkmen-Azerbaijani consultations on the Caspian Sea issue have been held at the Turkmen Foreign Ministry. A delegation led by Azerbaijan’s deputy foreign minister, Xalaf Xalafov, took part in the consultations. According to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry’s press service, during the meeting held in the atmosphere of openness and friendship, the sides discussed the pace of gradual establishment of an international legal status of the Caspian Sea and preserving its bio-diversity and ecology.”The sides have especially emphasized their determination to resolve all issues via diplomatic and legal means. The development of comprehensive and mutually agreed actions in the Caspian Region is in line with long-term interests of all littoral countries,” says the press-release issued by the Turkmen Foreign Ministry. The sides also emphasized their mutual interest in expanding interstate dialogue including regular political consultations between their foreign ministries.
