Western Kazakhstan is home to the major oil and gas projects (Karachaganak, Kashagan and Tengiz) that are key to the economic success of Kazakhstan. JSC NC KazMunayGas, in liaison with the akimats of Atyrau, West-Kazakhstan and Mangistau Provinces, are leading an initiative to develop the industrial potential of the western provinces of Kazakhstan.
The focus is on the creation of new production facilities to satisfy the requirements of the major oil and gas projects, and also to identify new investment opportunites in other sectors of the regions’s economy such as agribusiness, renewable energy, industrial and civil construction, and water treatment. This will lead to the strengthening of Kazakhstan’s professional skills and industrial base.
A high-level forum will be held in Aktau from 24-26 September to take this initiative forward. To launch the intiative in London, we are very pleased to welcome Lord Waverley, Advisor to the Chairman of KazMunayGas on Local Content Development for Major Oil and Gas Projects, and HE Kairat Abusseitov, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who will explain the investment opportunities and the forum in more detail.
